2017 Honda Civic Si and Type R Release Date
2017 has been a big year for the Honda Civic—the 2017 Civic Coupe, Hatchback, and Sedan have all been released and three more models are still in the works: the Si Sedan, the Si Coupe, and the Type-R. The 2017 Honda Civic Si and Type R release date is set for early next year, which will finally complete the stunning 10th-generation Civic lineup.

2017 Honda Civic Si Specs
The 2017 Civic Si Coupe and Si Sedan will sport a high-performance, high-torque 1.5L, directed-injected and turbocharged DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine with dual VTC mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Other performance features include a new active damper system, an active steering system, limited-slip differential, and available high-performance tires.
The 2017 Civic Si interior features front sport seats with red stitching, including stitched Si logos. The red sport stitching continues through the doors, steering wheel, and leather shift boot with aluminum shift knob. The interior also features a red driver’s TFT meter and audio system illumination, aluminum sport pedals, and a Dry Metal Carbon instrument panel trim.
2017 Honda Civic Type R Specs
The Honda Civic Type R builds on the low and wide proportion of the new 2017 Civic Hatchback and is enhanced by muscular body styling and modifications to aid aerodynamic performance. The exterior is coated in a highly reflective, finely-grained brushed aluminum-effect finish, and the aggressive fascia is accentuated with a winged carbon fiber splitter and a sporty red accent line. Honda’s iconic red “H” badge is featured on all Type R models and sits on the front grille.
To add to the aggressive exterior design, the Type R also features carbon fiber side skirts, 20” piano black alloy wheels with red accents, and 245-section high-performance tires. The Type R also features three fully-functional tailpipes, with the smaller central one highlighted in a bright metallic red. Lastly, model-exclusive vortex generators at the rear edges of the roof point backward toward a visually striking rear wing.
