2016 was quite the year.
With the looming Trump presidency, the crisis in Syria and the ongoing terrorist attacks happening throughout the world – I can say with certainty that I feel like things are feeling even more uncertain in the world.
Here I am at the end of 2016, feeling pretty overwhelmed again with our new house project in full swing, layered on with Christmas traditions and expectations and my perfectionist tendencies sort of making things less fun. Knowing how easily overwhelmed I get (because I want things to be perfect), I said no to a trip to Toronto in December for my own sanity. I just needed to chill-out for a bit and get ready for all this house stuff.
Luckily, my parents are coming for a two-week visit at the end of January – so I’ll get to spend some time together with them without all the crazy that is Christmas. Our big move from LA to Portland happened in May and we’re still working on getting settled and making new friends (which is haaard in a new city).
