Brunch is one of my favorite meals and I love having the time to put in a little extra care and effort this time of year for a full-on holiday brunch for friends and family. I definitely want things to be special, but at the same time – I like to keep things easy, simple and relaxed.
If you’re hosting a holiday brunch for your own family, here are 5 easy holiday brunch ideas and recipes to get you inspired!
1) Pick Recipes You Can Prep in Advance
The holidays are busy enough without you having to be stuck in the kitchen the whole time. For holiday brunch, I like to choose a few recipes that I can prep in advance and can easily serve a crowd like a giant Crunchy Kale Salad and a Festive Fruit Salad. Both can be made the night before. Just add dressing to your kale salad on the morning-of.
My Easy Egg Muffin Cups lets you bake off a bunch of eggs at once, instead of cooking them to order during a busy holiday brunch. Save time by using pre-washed baby spinach, pre-shredded cheese, and julienned sun-dried tomatoes. Clean-up is also super fast when you line your muffin tin with muffin liners. Grab my recipes at the end of this post!
2) Create an Instant Tablescape: Mini Floral Centrepieces + A Table Runner
You don’t need to go crazy with charger plates or fine silverware. Pick out a table runner, grab a few jars or mini vases from the store and 2-3 bouquets to create a quick and easy tablescape for your holiday brunch.
Add candles and reuse the same tablescape for your holiday dinner. Grab some festive paper napkins – fold them like they are fancy and you’re DONE. For a dramatic, yet affordable effect grab a big swag of garland from the grocery store and lay it across your table.
3) Make Bacon in the Oven
Have you ever tried to cook a giant batch of bacon for a crowd? It can get messy and full of splatchy oil. Instead, try cooking your bacon in the oven for your holiday brunch. Just take your bacon out of the oven when it’s almost done and cover with foil to keep warm while your egg muffin cups bake-off.
When you’re ready to serve your holiday brunch, pop your bacon back into the oven for five more minutes to heat up.
4) Assign Tasks
If you have an older child or an eager guest – let them help out! Assign easy tasks like toasting and buttering the bread or filling juice cups while you’re cooking. If you have a digital camera – ask them to take photos of the event that you can send out later.
5) Set Everything Out the Night Before
I’m big on doing as much as possible in advance. Set up your tablescape, put out clean plates, silverware, juice glasses and coffee mugs before you go to bed. Put the pans you need out on the stove and serving platters out on your countertops. It will make cooking, serving and hosting super easy after a busy morning of opening gifts.

Simply Orange Juice is a great drink pairing for a hearty holiday breakfast like this one. I love the delicious taste and the fact that it’s not-from-concentrate, does not contain any added sweeteners, colors or preservatives and is never frozen. It’s just great-tasting orange juice, the way nature intended.
Look for Simply Orange Juice in the refrigerated juice section of your local Safeway store.
