A livestreamed talk on NASCAR history at Watkins Glen will be the lead presentation during this coming weekend’s Jean S. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History, taking place at the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen, New York.

During the symposium, conducted with cooperation with the Society of Automotive Historians, 11 scholarly papers on motorsport history will be presented by researchers. Among those presentations on Friday and Saturday will be papers on racing in Cuba, racing by early electric vehicles, 1962 and 1963 NASCAR Grand National Champion Joe Weatherly, the 1923 Italian and European Grand Prix and NASCAR and its TV ratings.

The keynote speaker will be Dan Simone, curator of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina, whose remarks will be livestreamed at 1 p.m. on Saturday. To join that discussion online, go to YouTube.com/User/IMRRC/Live, or else visit the center’s website at RacingArchives.com, where you can learn more about the presentations and their schedule.
