Fall is finally here!
Which means it’s a great time to head out to the Oregon coast. You’ll find that things have slowed down and there aren’t as many tourists as there are in the summer months. Paul, BINGO and I made our very first trip to Seaside, Oregon earlier this year and had a chance to check out the newly-renovated Ashore Hotel.
The Ashore Hotel is an awesome retro motel that went through A LOT of modern upgrades to make this a hip little outpost by the sea. We loved it because it was dog-friendly and we could have our pup with us. BINGO loves the beach, so it would super made if he didn’t get to come along with us.
The Room
Our room featured a retro fireplace that came with a can of fuel that you could burn to give it a fireplace look and feel. We had new barn board-style floors, a fully renovated bathroom with a glass shower and a cool sliding barn door. The Ashore Hotel did a great job upgrading this property and giving it a cozy and modern feel with rustic touches.
Seaside is roughly a 90-minute drive from Portland, Oregon and is terrific for a weekend getaway. It’s close enough to take visiting friends and family – especially those with kids.

Bright blue teal doors against a grey exterior (above). Each room has windows that your can open with an air conditioner that you can control in your room. We rarely had to use it because it was so cool.
The Ashore hotel also features a lobby that serves wine, beer and small bites. Water, coffee and tea are available complimentary all day. There’s also a firepit, sauna and indoor swimming pool for guests. For parking, you can pull right up to your room. We had a spot on the second floor and there was just a flight of stairs to get up there.
