While Fiat has a magnificent history rooted in the style-filled city of Turin, Italy – where Fiat was first founded in 1899 – there is no denying that over the last 117 years, we have managed to build a loyal following worldwide.
Whether it is the United States of America, the United Kingdom or Brazil, we have integrated our Italian DNA into every culture of the countries in which our stunning vehicles are sold.
South Africa is another of the countries in which Fiat has established astonishing growth and a loyal customer base. Just like Fiat vehicles, South Africa is vibrant, stylish and packed with culture – with each area of this glorious land offering various views and insights into a world of diverse cultures and traditions.
Esther Mahlangu is a flagbearer of the Ndebele culture, using intricate artworks to share one of the most vibrant cultures South Africa has with offer the world. The 80-year-old traditional artist first shot to prominence in 1990, when she painted another manufacturer’s vehicle, which currently sits permanently at a German museum.
Her recent works have attracted the attention of the world. From collaborating with international superstar John Legend, to working with some of the world’s foremost beverage companies – Mahlangu can turn any unsuspecting canvas into a work of gawk-inspiring art.
One of Mahlangu’s recent works, and one of our favourites, features the world’s coolest car as her canvas – the Fiat 500. Heritage Day is celebrated on 24 September in South Africa, and what better way to enjoy a day dedicated to culture than by feasting your eyes upon the wonderful artistic work of Esther Mahlangu, on the wonderful artistic work of the Fiat designers?
A world of cool awaits, in the Fiat 500, from Bidvest McCarthy Fiat. We have great deals on the Fiat 500, along with brilliant deals on other stylish New and Pre-Owned Fiat vehicles.
