Yesterday we heard an unfortunate rumor claiming that Google may be shutting the Project Ara modular smartphone down. It wasn’t official then, but Google has now confirmed that this is the case.
The project is technically suspended rather than dead, but the point is that we won’t be seeing a Project Ara phone released. Yesterday’s report said that Google might release the technology through partners using license agreements, but as of right now, there are no concrete details regarding the future of Project Ara or its technology.
