The new GLC43 Coupe is one of the latest additions in the performance units of the Mercedes-AMG family. The SUV coupe is characterized by the elements of agility and elegance combined with practicality for everyday use. Let us take a quick look at what it has in store for buyers.

Performance

The Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine. The unit is capable of producing 362 hp at 5,500 to 6,000 rpm, and 384 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. All that power is distributed with bias to the rear wheels at a ratio of 31:69 via the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system equipped with a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission.

The resulting acceleration of the GLC43 Coupe from zero to 60 mph is 4.8 seconds. On the other hand, its top speed is electronically-limited to 130 mph.

The added agility of the compact SUV is thanks to its AMG Sport Suspension based on AIR BODY CONTROL. The feature provides a multi-chamber air suspension system to the vehicle making its base more rigid without sacrificing the comfort of its occupants. It also allows various driving configurations based on the preference of the driver such as the Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ modes.

Design

Outside, the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe receives a chrome-tipped diamond block grille, air intakes and rear spoiler. In addition, its new air intakes, fins, front splitter, quad tailpipes, and bumpers all come in silver chrome. Then AMG tops it all off with a set of 20-inch multi-spoke light alloy wheels wrapped in 255/45 R20 tires in front and 285/40 R20 tires in the rear. There is an optional set of 21-inch wheels for interested buyers too.

Going in, the SUV coupe gets its surfaces covered in high-end leather with contrasting red stitching. The upholstery of the auto makes use of black MB-Tex/DINAMICA microfiber materials.

Tech

Among the noteworthy tech found in the GLC43 Coupe are 5.5-inch multifunction color display in the driver’s side, Audio 20 infotainment system, 7-inch central display, Frontbass, Bluetooth, audio streaming and two USB ports. Optional add-ons include the Garmin MAP PILOT for better navigation, Burmester Surround Sound System, 9-channel DSP amplifier, and 13 speakers. The output of the vehicle’s system can be raised to 590 watts.

Arrival

The Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe is scheduled to arrive at the Paris Motor Show on September 28, according to the Press Release of Mercedes-Benz. Expect the SUV coupe to be made available in US dealerships during the first quarter of next year.
