* Before Nader, the automotive industry pretty effectively countered criticisms of building unsafe cars by deflecting blame onto drivers, who obviously needed more training behind the wheel. Thus you see companies like Ford sponsoring driver’s training videos like this one from 1956 detailing Harold Smith’s No-Accident Driving System.
* Somebody who obviously didn’t see the Harold Smith video above was the guy in the ZAZ in this clip from the 1998 Russian flick “I Want to Jail” (or so translates Google).
