Suzuki Claims AMA Pro 450 MX Manufacturers Title
The championship-winning 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450 not only propelled Ken Roczen to the national championship this season, but the bike also earned Suzuki the prestigious AMA Pro Motocross Manufacturers title. Suzuki dominated the scoring in the 450 class with 584 points, finishing first ahead of Kawasaki with 500 points, KTM (469 points), Yamaha (394 points), Honda (348 points), and Husqvarna (332 points).
Roczen Ends Championship Run With Another Victory
Ken Roczen didn’t need to win, as he’d already clinched the AMA Pro Motocross Championship a week ago, but the RCH Suzuki rider went out and capped off the 2016 outdoor national campaign with a victory. Roczen rode his powerful RCH Suzuki RM-Z450 to another dominating 1-1, capturing his ninth overall national win this summer.
Roczen finished the season with an 86-point lead over Eli Tomac in the final 450 Class standings. His 584 point achievement is among the highest point total a rider has attained in the 450 premier division in Pro Motocross history.
Bisceglia Rides RM-Z450 To Best Moto Finish of the Year
Yoshimura Suzuki’s Matthew Bisceglia ended the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship on a high note. Bisceglia raced his powerful Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 to 11-6 moto finishes, earning him eighth overall. Not only did his eighth-place match his best overall of the season, his sixth place in the second moto was his best moto finish of the 2016 campaign.
Once again, Team Suzuki was well represented at the season-ending national in Indiana. A total of 11 Suzuki riders made the national at Ironman – Ken Roczen, Matthew Bisceglia, Ronnie Stewart, Max Tannenbaum, Daniel Lippman, Austin Howell, and Nicholas Schmidt riding the powerful Suzuki RM-Z450, and Kyle Cunningham, Luke Clout, Josh Osby, and Jimmy Albertson racing the agile Suzuki RM-Z250.
