June 2016 Beauty Favorites

A few days late, but I'm finally here with my beauty favorites for last month! I had originally planned this to be a video on my Youtube channel, but when I sat down to edit the footage, I just wasn't feeling happy with what I had filmed. I get so excited about writing blog posts but when it comes to making videos, I'm just not having as much fun. I think for now I'll just have to be counted as one of those beauty bloggers who doesn't have an accompanying beauty channel.

Anyway, let's dive in to last month's beauty favorites! I used (and fell in love with) so many awesome products in June, which is a bit strange for me because normally I don't use much during the summer because I hate the feel of a bunch of products on my skin in the heath and humidity.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Neutral: I've mentioned this concealer a lot lately, and for good reason. It works so well at covering up skin discoloration, pimples, and dark circles without feeling heavy or cakey. On days when it super hot out, I'll skip foundation or a BB cream and use a little bit of this instead.

Still Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Venezia: I'd had my eye on this ever since seeing Kate mention it, and decided to pick it up because it looked like the perfect summer color. It's a bright orange-toned red that is so much fun to wear, and really adds a pop to any makeup look. Also, the name - this is a lip product that literally stays all day! After wearing it through several meals, drinks, and hot hours in the sun, it hadn't budged an inch. My lips were completely opaque with color, and it actually took a little bit of scrubbing to get it all off at the end of the day.

ColourPop Highlighter in Spoon: This highlighter is so damn gorgeous. I've been obsessed with it ever since I first swatched it. If you want a product that gives you a super dewy glow without completely emptying your wallet, definitely pick this up.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy: I had a lot of you tell me that this blush was a favorite of yours, and I can see why! I've been wearing this shade all month and I love how gorgeous it looks on my skin. You do have to be a little careful to not put too much on (and risk looking like Miss Piggy), but with a light hand you can get the most amazing coral glow for summer.

Essie Nail Polish in Clambake: Y'all know this is like my nail polish holy grail for summer. I've had this shade on my nails nearly all month and I couldn't be happier. There is just something about orangey reds that get me in the summer mood. It's such a fun color, and I don't fully feel like summer is here until I have a full coat on every nail.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist*: My favorite way to battle the heat and humidity is with a refreshing facial spray. This rosewater mist is a total Godsend - it calms any redness on my cheeks and soothes overheated skin while providing moisture and a deliciously real rose scent. I like keeping this in the fridge during the summer months for an added refreshing boost.

La Roche-Posay Micellar Water*: I'm a huge fan of micellar waters, and I've finally found one that is as good as my beloved Bioderma. I believe this is the first product I've tried from La Roche-Posay, and it's so good that I can't wait to test out more from the brand. This melts off every last bit of makeup, regular and waterproof, without stripping my skin or aggravating my contact lenses. Also, it has a light scent that is so lovely, which makes using it even more of a treat.

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist*: Hot summer days call for makeup setting tricks, and this mist from Pixi is all I need to keep my look in place all day. I really like that it's a light spray and doesn't end up feeling like hairspray on my face, but it's so powerful and keeps my makeup from sweating off midday. If you're traveling anywhere warm this summer or live somewhere that is particularly humid, definite pick this up.

Dove Dryspray Deodorant in Cool Essentials*: Speaking of summer essentials, I am absolutely obsessed with the new Dove Drysprays. I used to hate wearing spray deodorants because they'd just make my armpits wet (which pretty much defeated the purpose of an antiperspirant), but these are on a completely other level. Not only do they spray on dry, but they keep you fresh and clean-smelling for 48 hours. Um, yes please.

Clairol Hair Food Hair Milk with Jasmine & Vanilla Shampoo*: The new Clairol Hair Food range is so amazing! I've been using a few of their products this month, and I'm completely happy with every one of them. This shampoo is so gentle on my hair, which is in constant need of hydration, but it's also strong enough to get it completely clean. I love that it's more of a "milky" consistency, so it truly feels like I'm adding moisture and nutrition to my locks.

Clairol Hair Food Hair Milk with Jasmine & Vanilla Conditioner*: To go along with the shampoo, I've been using the Hair Milk Conditioner, and oh my gosh. This stuff is so incredible. It's like using a special treatment mask, and my hair feels so soft and bouncy afterwards. I usually have an issue with frizziness in the summer, but this has been helping keep my locks smooth and tamable without weighing them down.
