Have you heard of Leesa?

Furnishing your first apartment can be a daunting task. Between coordinating your stuff and managing your budget, the tug of war between save and splurge can take on epic proportions. That’s why I was so excited to get my first good quality mattress, and have it shipped right to my door!

Leesa is a company that offers luxury built-to-order mattresses for less than USD$1000. The mattresses are designed and made in the USA, and the company plants one tree and donates one mattress to a shelter for every 10 they sell.

Unlike regular coil/spring mattresses that can be a bit hit and miss, Leesa uses three layers of high quality foam to support, contour and cool the body. The 10” mattress is medium firm and feels surprisingly soft and supportive thanks to the pressure relieving memory foam in the middle.

Leesa refers to this design as Universal Adaptive Feel™, which in laymen terms means a tummy sleeper and a back sleeper can sleep in perfect harmony, even if someone is always stealing all of the sheets (ahem.)

I logged onto their website and found the ordering process fast and easy. With only one mattress to choose from, you simply select your mattress size, check out with you credit card or Paypal and enjoy free shipping (even in Canada!)

Once the mattress arrived, it was a breeze to push the box to my room and set it up solo. The mattress comes tightly compressed and the clear diagrams definitely helped (sorry IKEA, not only did the diagrams have words, but there were also only four steps).

The mattress does takes some time to expand, take shape and off gas, which gave me the chance to admire the preppy and cute four-stripe mattress cover. It’s super soft and seamless and almost made me sad I had to put bed sheets on the mattress at all.

Disclosure: I was provided a complimentary mattress by Leesa, however the opinions reflected in this post are always my own.
