No-Fuss Vacation Hairstyles 3 Ways | A Girl, Obsessed
School's out and summer is here, which means vacation season is finally upon us. Whether you're jet-setting to a foreign country or just spending your days lounging on the beach, your hair routine will likely be changed up a bit to accommodate the warmer months. Today, I'm teaming up with Target to share how you can do stylish vacation hair in three effortless ways!

THE HALF-BUN

Casual half-buns are extremely popular right now for a simple, everyday look. I'm a huge fan of this style, and think it's perfect for a day out shopping and exploring the city you're vacationing in.
To achieve this look: Let your hair air dry after you wash it so it can have some natural texture to it. Next, spray some dry shampoo through the top half of your hair, and give it a good scrunch and shake to build up volume. Finally, take the top half of the hair that you sprayed and pull it up into a messy bun using hair elastics and bobby pins. This part doesn't have to be perfect - the messier and more tousled it looks, the better. Spray with hairspray to set, and you're good to go!

THE MAIDEN CROWN

I think there's something so sweet and romantic about maiden braids, which is why I chose this simplified version as my "vacation date night" look. It's super easy to create, and will look perfect paired with a dress and heels while out with that special someone.
To achieve this look: Style your hair as desired (I added soft waves to my locks with a flat iron, but this would also look lovely with straightened or curled hair). Next, take a 2-3 inch chunk of hair at each temple and semi-loosely braid both sides, securing each braid with a hair elastic. Lastly, criss-cross the two braids over your head like a crown or headband, and secure them in place with bobby pins.

THE MESSY UPDO

On a hot day in the sun (ideally at the beach or by the pool), all I want is to have my hair piled up on top of my head and out of my face. I've never been one to create a topknot without wanting to rip my hair out, but messy updos I can do.
To achieve this look: After allowing your hair to air dry, liberally spray dry shampoo all throughout. Using a pick or comb, backcomb random sections of hair (your goal is to create extremely big, messy hair). Then, tie all of your hair up on top of your head into a big messy ponytail using hair elastics. Next, grab random chunks of hair, twist and loop them all around the base of the ponytail, and secure them with bobby pins. The key to this look is to not worry about it being perfect - have fun with it and play around until you have an updo that you like.

To create these looks, I relied on the new Hair Food collection sold exclusively at Target. This range is made up of nature-inspired products that truly pamper the hair, giving life to your locks and helping you achieve truly stunning looks. Think salon-quality results for a fraction of the cost. Hair Food products are created without silicones, parabens, gluten, mineral oils, or dyes, so you can really feel good about what you're using on your hair.

Since my hair is in constant need of hydration (especially in the summer heat), the Hair Food Hair Milk with Jasmine & Vanilla Shampoo* and Conditioner* were the perfect choices to add moisture and nourishment back into my locks. As an added bonus, I used the Hair Food Moisturizing Hair Mask* to make my hair soft, shiny, and easy to style. Last, but certainly not least, the Hair Food Kiwi Dry Shampoo*, which played a huge part in helping me create these three looks. You can never go wrong with a good dry shampoo, and this little bottle is perfectly travel-sized!
