Facebook Messenger launches a new Home page to make conversations easier

Facebook recently brought support for text messages on the Android platform to its Messenger app, but it looks like the changes aren’t stopping anytime soon.

Facebook today officially announced a brand new Home page, which will work as a new way to look at the inbox experience. Leading up to this point, the home page for Messenger just listed off the many different conversations a user was having. That’s changing in a big way, with a redesigned layout, more information, and an easier way to see who’s online and, potentially, ready to chat.

On the new Home screen, users will see a few of their most recent conversations at the top and then a list of their favorite contacts just below that. In the middle there’s a dedicated section for birthdays, used as another prompt to send a message. And then below that, there’s a section for active users, showing who is on Messenger at the moment. Finally, the list of messages with other contacts are below that.

The new Home within Facebook Messenger is rolling out now, so keep an eye out for it. And once you get it, let us know what you think of Facebook’s latest change.
