Could Amazon’s Fire tablets get any cheaper?

Amazon’s tablets are cheap. We all know that. The company cuts corners with hardware and just pushes its online store in a locked ecosystem. Rather than making a profit on hardware sales, Amazon relies on whatever apps, games, movies, television shows, and magazines you buy frequently. It’s just that sometimes the experience suffers, but customers have proven to the world that cheap tablets attached to Amazon’s ecosystem are here to stay.

For a limited time, the company’s cheap tablets are even cheaper.

The sale involves the Fire, Fire HD 6, Fire HD 10, Fire Kids Edition, Fire HD 6 Kids Edition, and HDX 8.9. These tablets were released between 2014-2015, so you’re getting relatively good technology in each.

Amazon really shocked the market with its low-end Fire, a tablet priced at $49 with specifications you’d expect from a random knockoff brand sold at CVS or Walgreens. Despite the initial hesitance, people flocked to the Fire and made it the online retailer’s most popular item during the holidays. Its success has been so great that another color option in addition and more storage were introduced last month. Now, part of the ongoing sale, the Fire is a mere $39.

The company has not stated when any of the deals expire, and all of the aforementioned tablets are eligible for free two-day shipping with an Amazon Prime membership.
