A few days ago, Daimler showed to us the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC. As a recap, it houses a handcrafted 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine with 367 hp and 520 Nm of torque capable of pushing the auto from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
But recently, it was revealed that AMG is planning something more powerful than the GLC 43. Following the reveal of the high-performance luxury SUV, Motor Authority released the spy shots of what it claimed to be the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63.
The giveaway in the photos indicating that the SUV is the AMG GLC 63 is its more muscular form. The front bumper is showing a more aggressive trait compared to the GLC 43 that we have seen earlier.
The source said that the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 has a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine under its hood. With that, it is expected to have an output of 469 hp while the GLC 63 S model will have 503 hp distributed through a seven-speed automatic transmission. The report added that the GLC 63 and its S trim will also come with a four-wheel drive system.
The power unit was confirmed by the person who supplied the spy shots, based on the article. The source stated that their photographer heard a distinct V8 roar coming from the engine bay of the vehicle. Moreover, the photographer noted that the exhaust tips of the spied auto share a similar design with the 63-series models produced by Mercedes-AMG.
So far, there are no official announcements about the launching of the GLC 63. The report predicted that it might happen next year though.
