Google expands album functionality within Google Photos

Google is updating Photos with some useful new tricks that should make it much easier to organize and share pictures from your trips and vacations. It expands on the Story feature that’s already there with a little more organizational know-how, especially if you’re the type of person to take a ton of photos then leave them on your phone or computer without ever letting anyone else know about them.

These new albums will track all over your pictures over a vacation, along with location pins, then curate the best shots and dish up a recommended album for you to look over. You can caption your photos and turn on collaboration so other people on the trip can add their own notes, too. Existing albums can be customized to take advantage of these new features, so you won’t have to plan a vacation to take advantage of the update.

The update is going live on Android, iOS, and the website today, so keep an eye out for it as you’re looking over your photos.
