Enduro: Webb Victorious at FIM SuperEnduro Round 4

Cody Webb Podium Shot KTM Racing Press Release: FMF KTM Factory Team rider Cody Webb took the overall victory at the fourth round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Series to close the gap on Europe’s Red Bull KTM Factory Team rider and current point leader Jonny Walker. Webb’s teammate, Taylor Robert, went 6-4-4 for fourth overall on the night. Webb was the rider to watch in the first heat. He launched out front early to claim the holeshot and was untouchable from that point on. He went on to take a win by a large margin without making any mistakes. Robert struggled a bit in race one and managed to finish the race in sixth position. They reversed the start order of the second heat which meant Webb had last gate pick. Even with the worst gate pick choice, he still pulled the holeshot and jumped out front early. While leading, he suffered a crash in the matrix. He quickly recovered but had two more crashes during the race which cost him the lead. He was able to make a last lap pass on Colton Haaker to move into second place where he finished the heat. Robert showed improvement from heat one to finish fourth in heat two. When the gate dropped for the third race, Webb went three for three on the holeshots as he again came around the first corner out front. He went down part way into the race losing two positions. He was able to quickly recover and went on to make a pass on the final lap in the last turn to take second place for heat three. Robert matched his second heat race position, securing another fourth place result. Webb’s 1-2-2 finishes earned him the overall for the night. The points gained with this victory moved him within 9 points of the overall point standings lead. FIM Superenduro Race Action Shot “Cody was very fast today and made it hard on himself with too many crashes,” stated Antti Kallonen, FMF KTM Factory Team Manager. “He was able to manage to get the overall and close the championship point’s deficit to 9 points and we are happy with that result.” Webb reported after the race, “I’m happy to be back on the top step of the podium. It all came down to the last corner for the overall and I managed to get by Walker for the win. I felt like I was riding well but I made it hard on myself with too many mistakes. We are all pushing so hard it is easy to crash. I have a weekend off now and then it is back for the final two rounds where everything is still to play for.” “I had a good night,” stated Robert. “Tonight was the best I have raced all season. I was right there with Webb and Walker in the final race and was able to start jumping the log pit which no one else was doing. I just want to keep this momentum going for the next two rounds.” Next Event: Prague, Czech Republic – March 12, 2016 Overall Results: 1.    Cody Webb – KTM 2.    Colton Haaker 3.    Jonny Walker – KTM 4.    Taylor Robert – KTM 5.    Alfredo Gomez – KTM Overall Point Standings: 1.    Jonny Walker – 212 2.    Cody Webb – 203 3.    Colton Haaker – 185 4.    Alfredo Gomez – 142 5.    Taylor Robert – 141 For more information: www.ktmusa.com
