AMASX: Supercross Military Appreciation Race Auction Live Now
Supercross Media Press Release: Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and USO San Diego have teamed up to host an eBay auction benefitting the non-profit organization after last Saturday's memorable Military Appreciation Race from San Diego's Petco Park. Fans now have the chance to bid on the race-worn gear donated by the championship's biggest stars, which honored our service men and women with special military designs. More than 30 items are currently up for bidding, ranging from the jersey and pants worn by race winner, and defending Monster Energy Supercross Champion, Ryan Dungey to the full set of Team Honda HRC plastics from runner-up Cole Seely's motorcycle. All of the biggest names in supercross donated to the cause, including James Stewart, who unfortunately missed the Military Appreciation Race while recovering from a concussion sustained at the opening race. "The amount of items we have received from the teams and riders is a testament to the close-knit community of Monster Energy Supercross," said Dave Prater, Director of Supercross. "Our entire industry has embraced the cause surrounding the Military Appreciation Race and we are fortunate to showcase our biggest and most dynamic auction to date." All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit USO San Diego. "We're overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from the supercross community for this auction," said USO San Diego's Marketing & Communications Director Meaghan Cox. "This was our first opportunity to partner with Feld Motor Sports for the Military Appreciation Race and it has without a doubt been one of the most successful endeavors for USO San Diego. There are so many cool items for fans to bid on and we're blown away by the amount of traffic and bidding the auction has already received." Fans simply need to log onto the USO San DiegoeBay stores to start bidding. The auction is now live and can also be accessed via SupercrossLive.com, the official website of Monster Energy Supercross.
