From the swoopily faired Ego superbike, Energica has now derived a naked roadster electric motorcycle called the EVA.
The CRP Group was founded 45 years ago by Roberto Cevolini, a man with enormous passion for fine mechanics. A true visionary, he was determined to create the finest precision tooling firm capable of responding to the most challenging requests. CRP quickly reached the apex of CNC machining technology, with a list of clients that includes most of the top Formula 1 teams, Ferrari above all. Not only that, CRP remains under full control of the Cevolini family—Roberto’s son Franco is CEO and Technical Manager of the CRP Group while his daughter Livia is CEO of Energica Motor Company and Marketing and Sales Manager of the Group. Under their management CRP has extending its activity to aerospace—the ultimate challenge. In its quest for more advanced technical solutions, CRP has registered a number of patents, the most conspicuous being a process that overcame the limits of 3D printing with fiber-charged composite materials using a proprietary “Windform.” More critical CRP patents concern the development of a new, very precise lost-foam casting method, including the creation of a new generation of “wax” compound and related laser sculpting process. Today the Group includes six companies: CRP Meccanica, CRP Technology, CRP USA, CRP Service, CRP Engineering, and Energica Motor Company. CRP USA is located in North Carolina, a.k.a. NASCAR country, and in fact cooperates with some of the leading race teams. The Modena, Italy factory is absolutely impressive due to the lineup of the most advanced CNC machining, laser and electron-beam technology stations. Visitors are not allowed to take photographs, which is too bad because no words can convey the exact value of the place. You should see the jewel-like hub carriers that CRP delivers to the top F1 teams—astonishing!
