'Tis the Season of Giving at Berman Auto Group

Now that it's the holiday season, it presents (no pun intended) an opportune time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for over the past year. We have much to be thankful for at Berman Auto Group. Most obviously, our families and friends. And then of course, our loyal customers.

But we're particularly thankful for the opportunity to give back to the communities we serve and on whom we depend to stay in business. Giving back, of course, can take many forms. It can be in dollar donations to various nonprofit and civic organizations, such as schools or religious communities. It also can be in time spent feeding the homeless or dining with elderly folks in need of companionship. These and other ways of giving back have enriched many of our lives here at Berman Auto Group in 2015.

Over the past two years Infiniti of Merrillville has donated between $4,000 and $5,000 to local nonprofits in the northwest Indiana area. You can check out the following clips from 2014 to see how IOM's managers and employees contributed to the communities they serve:

Most recently, IOM joined the Porter County Community Foundation to support youth education and enrichment programs. The dealership also became a member of the Northwest Indiana Trade Association, which holds quarterly fundraising events to help children with autism and to award scholarships, among other worthy causes.

In this spirit of supporting children in less fortunate circumstances, IOM is a toy collector for Toys for Tots. Donating your kids' old toys is an easy way to give joy to children experiencing tough times, and it's environmentally friendly as well. So be like Santa and come with a bagful of presents to drop off... you have until December 14th when the toys are collected.

Meanwhile, Mid City Nissan is providing support to the Jefferson Park Catholic community as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of St. Constance Catholic Church in 2016. MCN recently donated $2,000 to the parish, which it will use to hang 20 banners throughout the neighborhood marking the year-long celebration.
In addition to that, the dealership is honoring Chicago firefighters and their families this holiday season through its support of the Ignite the Spirit Fund. Firefighters or their immediate family members can get special
discounts on any new and used vehicles, as well as free oil changes for three years plus other discounts if they purchase a car from MCN. What's more, MCN will donate $100 in the firefighter's name and match up to $500 should they both purchase a car and donate to the fund.

One of Chicago's finest even works at MCN! Tom Carbonneau, who in addition to selling cars is also a fire chief. Any firefighters or their family members reading this can contact Tom directly at 773-310-3906, and he'll set you up with a new or certified pre-owned vehicle at a fire sale price.

Just down the street from MCN, Mid City Subaru is showing its love for the Old Irving Park community and greater Chicago through the Share the Love Event. By purchasing or leasing a new Outback, Forester or Legacy, for example, MCS will donate $250 to the charity of your choosing. One of the local charities MCS has chosen to support, BUILD, has been doing incredible work with at-risk youth in Chicago since 1969. Last year, MCS donated $10,000 to the program, and the amount donated this year will depend on the number of customers participating. Even if you don't purchase or lease a vehicle by January 2nd, we hope you will donate anyway. There are few nonprofit organizations that are more deserving of support.

Lastly, all five of our dealerships are participating in The Salvation Army's Christmas Angel Tree. Like Toys for Tots, this program also benefits children in unfortunate circumstances. The difference, however, is that you can select an individual child to receive your gift.

And just imagine the look on their little face when they unwrap it - priceless!
