Kia Sorento, Sedona and Soul Named IIHS Top Picks
Three Kia vehicles have earned a significant distinction. The Kia Sorento, Sedona and Soul have all been named IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2016.
In order to earn the status of an IIHS Top Safety Pick a vehicle must earn good ratings in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, as well as a basic rating for front crash prevention. Kia Vehicles Earn Five-Star Safety Ratings
The Kia Sorento, Sedona and Soul all also earned five-star government crash test ratings in addition to the IIHS Top Safety Pick recognition. The government ratings, along with the IIHS Top Safety Pick, help to illustrate the commitment Kia has made towards producing safe, reliable vehicles.
Kia vehicles also have optional safety features that include a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure and forward collision warning systems as well as parking sensors. The IIHS is beginning to take many of these features into consideration when determining which vehicles receive their Top Safety Pick designation.
