Mercedes-Benz has aded a fourth variant to their compact SUV lineup, the entry-level Mercedes-Benz GLA180.
Priced from $42,900 (plus options and on-road costs), the GLA180 undercuts the previous entry model, the GLA200d by $6000 and matches the entry price of the higher-selling Audi Q3.
Featuring the same 90kW/200Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the A180 hatch and B180 MPV, the GLA180 has a claimed combined cycle fuel consumption of just 5.7L/100km.
While still technically an SUV, the GLA180 is only front-wheel drive and like the other (non AMG) models in the range, is paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The GLA180 includes 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, blind-spot assistance, keyless start, parking sensors and navigation as part of the standard equipment list, and will be among the first Mercedes-Benz models to feature Apple CarPlay integration.
The GLA is available in 10 colours (metallics are $1190 extra), including the new Elbaite Green hue.
