We are happy to announce that our all-new Sorento and Sedona (also known as the Grand Carnival in many markets) have been honored for their excellence in design and performance by being selected as the Car of the Year (COTY) by Australia’s prestigious automobile magazines, Carsguide and Drive.
Sorento adds another win as Carsguide Car of the Year
Continuing the streak after being voted as RTM’s International SUV of the Year and Middle East Car of the Year, the all-new Sorento added another major win to its list as Carsguide’s Car of the Year.
Carsguide stated that the Sorento’s interior design and refined suspension and powerful engine performance were among the reasons for the win. In addition, the vehicle’s low running cost and industry-leading warranty also factored in the selection.
This victory is especially meaningful as the Sorento is the only Car of the Year winner to be voted for unanimously in the 19-year history of the award.
Kia Motors takes multiple titles in Drive Car of the Year awards
In addition to the recognition from Carsguide, the Sorento was selected as Best Family SUV in the Drive COTY awards. A four time category winner, the model was praised for its acute handling, comfortable ride and luxurious interior.
The Sedona (Grand Carnival) also joined the celebration as the Best People Mover category winner. The eight-seater minivan impressed the judges with its large size and spacious interior. Thanks to its thoughtfully designed features, the Sedona is quickly becoming one of the most popular vehicles in its segment in Australia, recording a market share of approximately 40% just last month.
Winning Car of the Year awards from not one but two organizations in the same country is an incredible milestone for Kia Motors and words cannot express our gratitude for such prestigious recognition.
