We’ve got some exciting things on the horizon here at Continental Mitsubishi! Don’t get us wrong, we’re still plenty excited about the new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander‘s release, as you can see from all the attention it’s gotten here recently. But we can’t help wanting to look a little further into the future, because the new Mitsubishi models coming out next year are so exciting as well. Not only is the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid finally coming to the US, after years of anticipation, but the Mitsubishi CUV family will be gaining a totally new member!
Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid Release Date
We’ve been waiting since 2013 for the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid to come to the US. It’s been delayed in the US because it became so popular in Europe and Japan that demand was outpacing supply. But the plug-in hybrid Outlander has been announced as a 2017 model in the US, and it’s supposed to be arriving in spring 2016, just a few months away. Although it’s been a long wait, this does mean the 2017 Outlander plug-in hybrid will share the 2016 Outlander’s fresh new look, and most likely include all the updated features the 2016 Outlander has, including the upgraded suspension and power steering, new navigation system, LED running lights and taillights, and easy-folding seats. Plus it’ll be able to go up to 30 miles on electricity alone!

New Mitsubishi CUV in 2017
The Outlander hybrid isn’t the only innovation we’re looking forward to next year from Mitsubishi. About a year from now, we’re anticipating the release of a brand-new CUV model! Since the Mitsubishi Outlander’s gotten bigger and more spacious, while the Outlander Sport has gotten more compact, this new vehicle’s going to fill in the size gap. It’s expected to make its auto show debut sometime next year. We’re still waiting on the name and the details of this new Mitsubishi CUV, but we’re excited to find out more, and we’ll keep you updated with more news about the new Mitsubishi models release date as we find out more!
