At first glance, this 1965 Sunbeam Tiger for sale on Hemmings.com looks too nice to be a 10,000-mile unrestored original example, but from the detail photos the seller provided, we can see all the minor wear and age indicators that tell us, indeed, it looks to have been well preserved these last 50 years. That probably means it won’t accumulate many more miles from here on out, but that’s how old car preservation works. From the seller’s description:
Unrestored survivor, 10,000 original miles, highly optioned, early production, California black plate Mark I Tiger, black on red (black piping), hardtop, short shifter, LAT 9 “pie cutter” wheels, luggage rack, clock, dated seat belts, tool roll, owners manual, bullet mirrors, Lucas headlights, etc. Original paint, upholstry, engine bay, hoses, hose clamps etc. Multiple concours winner. Very few black Tigers were built and only a handful had the red interior with black piping. One family owned prior to my purchase in 2011, the car was rarely seen in public. No rust, no paintwork, a true timecapsul.
