Usually a clearly identified business in a carspotting scene helps us pinpoint the location, but a quick googling turns up about three or four different addresses for Newman Comet-Lincoln-Mercury in Hartford, Connecticut, all of them either in rejuvenated areas of town or in locations that don’t look a bit like the locale in this photo supplied by Joe Sokola. At least the appearance of Comet among the marques Newman sold gives us a pretty good idea of the date the photo was taken. What do you see here?
