First Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final Edition Auctioned to Benefit National MS Society

Mitsubishi Lancer Final Edition Auction

Only 1,600 will be sold in the US, each with its own numbered plaque: the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition is going to be a collector’s item. Recently, Mitsubishi announced that the most coveted vehicle in the collection will be used to benefit a charitable cause. The first Lancer Evo Final Edition, bearing “US0001” on its center console, is up for auction this week, with all the proceeds from the sale going to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Vehicle #1 went up on eBay on November 11th, allowing collectors nationwide to place bids before the auction concludes at the charity’s annual MS Dinner on November 21st. So there’s still plenty of time to place your bids!

Here’s the eBay auction!

As of right now, the price is up to $38,900. The charity dinner where live bidding will take place is hosted by the National MS Society’s Pacific South Coast chapter in Coronado, California.

Mitsubishi Motors has been involved with the National MS Society for over 16 years. While they’ve raised money for the charity through other event sponsorships and activities, this might be their highest-profile donation so far. The proceeds from the first Lancer Evo Final Edition auction will fund MS research, and help the organization provide programs and services to assist MS sufferers and their families.

The Lancer Evolution Final Edition is based off the current GSR model, and features a higher-performance engine, a black-painted roof, dark chrome accents outside, and an upgraded black-and-red interior. Its design pays homage to the Lancer Evolution’s place in automotive history, as one of the original innovators of the four-door sports car genre. Producing 303 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, its turbocharged engine is more powerful than any other Lancer Evolution produced. For the rest of the non-auctioned Final Edition vehicles, Mitsubishi has announced a starting MSRP of $37,995.
