Mercedes-Benz has handed down the first preview of its facelifted SL roadster, to be revealed in full at this month’s Los Angeles auto show.
Arriving as an update to the current ‘R231’ SL, which debuted in early 2012, the revised 2016 model will debut a new front-end look.
The styling update will bring the SL in line with the German carmaker’s latest styling language, now featured all the way from the small A-Class and GLA through to the big S-Class and GLS.
The tweaks include a re-shaped inverted grille with diamond styling effect, new headlights and a new front bumper.
Although not yet revealed, we could also see sheetmetal changes through the profile – as with the revised E-Class – and a new look at the rear.
Further details on the refreshed SL are still to come, but it is likely that a number of new safety, comfort and convenience features will be included.
