The market for second-hand motorhomes manufactured in the mid-1970s isn’t exactly robust, making sales of even well-preserved Winnebagos or Pace-Arrows challenging. GMC motorhomes, however, are the exception to the rule – thanks in part to their rugged construction and timeless styling, they remain sought-after collectibles, nearly as popular as vintage Airstream travel trailers. This 1976 GMC Eleganza II, for sale on Hemmings.com, is said to have numerous upgrades, including some to shed weight and enhance performance. Owned by the seller for the past 12 years, it’s reportedly been serviced by GMC motorhome expert Ken Frey, and recent improvements include new deep cycle batteries, a new heavy-duty radiator and oil cooler, new KYB shocks, new fuel lines, a new stainless steel hot water tank and a new refrigerator. Even the rig’s aluminum and fiberglass exterior appears to be in good shape, meaning it should need little more than an enthusiastic new owner to keep it on the road for years to come. From the seller’s description:
