It’s sophisticated, sporty and the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer is coming soon. Not only does the 2016 model feature the Lancer’s signature dynamic performance and sharp handling, but improves upon it. So just what is new on the new Lancer? Here’s a closer look at the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer vs. 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer.

To start, the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer will get some sleek exterior updates. Not only does the front fascia get a fresh new look, but so do the tires and window trim. All 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer models will see new LED daytime running lights, front fascia and grille and a brand new continuously variable transmission. The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer GT trim sees new 18-inch alloy wheel designs and new chrome beltline. There are also new Diamond White Pearl and Alloy Silver exterior color options.

Another interesting change for the 2016 model year is the implementation and retiring of trim levels. While the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer boasted ES, SE, GT and Ralliart trim levels, the 2016 Lancer will instead have LE, ES, SE, SEL and GT models. More information on specifically how those models will differ in terms of features is expected to be available in the coming months.

Inside the new 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer are new fabric seats for the ES and SE trim levels. All trim levels will also see a brand new front center console with USB port and new display audio and navigation. Sleek, sophisticated new interior trims are also coming. In fact, the ES and SE models will see new gloss black interior trim and the SEL and GT models will see new mesh print interior trim.

In addition to a new look, features and trim levels, one of the major differences between the 2016 Mitsubishi and 2015 model is what is under the hood. The 2016 Lancer will keep the 2015 model’s engine options, but will introduce a new generation CVT8 for the 2.0- and 2.4-liter engines.

Stay tuned for more updates on the brand new 2016 Lancer as the release date gets closer. In the meantime, start exploring the 2015 Lancer today with a test drive. To get started, schedule one right here at Continental Mitsubishi using our convenient scheduling form.
