A Look Inside at the 2016 Kia Optima

Interior Features of 2016 Kia Optima

Compared to the 2015 Optima, the physical changes to the Kia Optima are dramatic and immediately recognizable. Kia’s midsize sedan continues to push the limits and remains ahead of the game with its forward thinking in design, but exterior design isn’t all that changed for 2016.

Kia turned its attention towards improving the interior and overall ride that the Optima delivers. Let’s take a look at what’s new and improved in regards to interior features of the 2016 Kia Optima.

One of the best ways to improve passenger comfort is to increase legroom; even with the comfiest seats in the world, if you’re folded up like a pretzel, it won’t be an enjoyable ride. The Kia Optima has extended its wheelbase slightly to make more room for front and backseat passengers which also made for more cargo space in the trunk.

Throughout the entire cabin on the Kia Optima, soft-touch materials were added to give it a more comfortable and cozy feel. The design has a more modern feel, and upper-level trims even begin to blur standards with the luxurious full-size K900. Attention to little details pay off to bring together the entire look and feel of the Optima; even things that seem as minimal as real stitching along the dash and doors as well as metallic accents.

Overall, the setup of the 2016 Optima’s cabin has been cleaned up to bring together the entire design. The console is wider while buttons, knobs, and dials have been positioned in logical places, easily within reach.

The 2016 Kia Optima also is stacked with loads of technology options. The UVO system alone now comes standard with four new eServies: Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert, and Driving Score. Furthermore, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also both now available as well.
