Ride For Kids: Motorcyclists in Three States Help Children with Brain Tumors
Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Press Release: Ride for Kids motorcyclists gathered in three states over the weekend and raised $103,927 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The events in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania honored 25 local brain tumor survivors on Aug. 2: Andrea, Andrew, Angel, Annabelle, Bo, Catie, Gianna, James, Jon, Jose, Josiah, Julie, Kimberly, Kirsten, Laura, Lindy, Molly, Paige, Ruth, Sean, Sonia, Stacy, Taylor, Zachary and Zachary L. “When I was first diagnosed, my family was able to get information from the PBTF that helped us get answers to questions,” Kirsten told the crowd at the Western Pennsylvania Ride for Kids. “Thanks to the research that the foundation helps fund I am now cancer free,” she said. “I still have some late effects, but I am going to college now thanks to the scholarship I received from the PBTF.” Brain tumor survivors like Kirsten are Ride for Kids Stars. Event participants’ donations fund the PBTF’s medical research and support programs to help these children and their families.
