From Hollister to Sturgis to Indy, bikers love a party. Oh sure, some enthusiasts also enjoy watching racing. But the Red Bull MotoGP at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has confirmed that for many, racing is just the excuse, the background music. Racing is the means for knowing on what date the party will be happening. A great deal of what the Indy MotoGP event is occurs in downtown Indianapolis. At Motorcycles on Meridian, a good 10 blocks of the city’s center is blocked off to car traffic. The party starts each afternoon while some motorcycles are still doing laps at the Speedway, and ends…

21) Suddenly, the world is dominated by cruisers. But notice the street name. And they even named a store after King Kenny.

23) The party went beyond the Civil War Monument in the distance. No cars, motorcycles parked on both sides and two rows down the middle, Sturgis style. And again, notice the predominance of baggers and cruisers.
