Bob Ryback’s 1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar I. Photos by Jeff Koch.
In my usual endeavor of trying to stuff 10-pounds of info into a 5-pound story, the 1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar I Buyers Guide that’s in the September 2015 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines ran too long, so we had to cut out the section on decoding the cowl data plate. Thankfully, we have a blog on which we can still provide this information after the fact to serve as a companion to the story. You also have a second opportunity to see Bob Ryback’ 117,000 mile original-paint Jetstar I, and that’s never a bad thing.
Plate info and layout may differ slightly from plant to plant. Below are arrangements for Lansing, Michigan, and Linden, New Jersey plates we have seen.
