Next-Generation 2016 Kia Sportage Redesign

Concept vehicles typically are still a long ways off from production; they are able to get away with a little more and bend the rules a littleto create a more dramatic body style that would typically get flagged come actual production time. The Kia Sportage first was produced in 1989 and has since taken the form of the company’s small CUV that is sporty and efficient while providing the driver and passengers with more space than a sedan would be capable of.

Just this past week, we took a look at some of the sketches that Kia released for its’ next generation Sportage. The vehicle looked elongated, while its tires looked like they belonged to a monster truck. Overall, the drawing lead us in the right direction, but weren’t spot on with what to expect; but now, we have next-generation 2016 Kia Kia Sportage redesign photos and a little more info on the CUV.

Up top you’re able to see the front and rear views of the all-new Sportage, while to the right, we have the side profile. There are some similarities to the sketch, but overall, the 2016 Sportage looks much better in real form than on paper.

If you look at the image on the left, this is the Kia Niro concept that was revealed two years ago, the same year Provo concept was also introduced. There are certain qualities that seem to be apparent in the Sportage and certainly could have been pulled from either of these concepts.

Unfortunately, an official date for the 2016 Kia Sportage has not yet been given, but now that images have been released, and slightly ahead of schedule too, we can expect further information on the Kia CUV.side-view-2016-kia-sportage

The sides and back end of the Sportage have been smoothed around to deliver an overall cleaner and more crisp appearance, while the front end is home to the important details, like the four-unit LED running lights, the signature Tiger Grille, and more silver and chrome than before. The expression of the new Sportage almost looks like a larger, more menacing Rio.
More info to come when the Kia Sportage makes its way to the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show that will be taking place next month.
