Well, this title offers us scant hints as to its subject matter. What could it be?
It’s about herding dogs: Demonstrating amazing capabilities, they’re also happy to work for room, board and a sincere pat on the head.
It’s about guide dogs: Showing safety first in protecting their grateful handlers.
It’s about guard dogs: Not to mention breeds that star in their own TV series.
It’s about middle-class working dogs: Here, offered in both single- and multiple-pooch configurations.
And, it’s about “the engineers [who] have done better with the automobile than nature did with the dog. For modern science has produced a car that satisfied all the demands of all drivers. Today’s motor car is all in one.”
Well, now it all makes perfect sense, though it takes an overly long time to make its point.
For your consideration then, a Dog Days of Summer special edition of Midweek Matinee, comparing the attributes of a number of man’s (and everyone else’s) two best friends: the dog, and the modern motor car.
