Lexus has just trademarked LS 500 in both Australia and Europe, joining the previously-registered LS 500h as a potential engine option for the next-generation Lexus flagship sedan.
The 500 engine designation is an interesting one, as it suggests the next-generation LS could be powered by the RC F’s 5.0L engine. If this is the case, 467 horsepower seems excessive for a base model — does this open the door for a V6 option?
(Really, this trademark was just a matter of time, as Lexus has already registered LC 500 & LC 500h for their upcoming flagship coupe based on the LF-LC concept.)
