Hemmings Find of the Day – 1968 Fiat 125

As square as it looks (if it were any boxier, it’d have square wheels), this 1968 Fiat 125 for sale on Hemmings.com has the potential to make for a fun driveable dream with its manual transmission, its 1600 dual overhead camshaft four-cylinder, and its guaranteed ability to start up a conversation wherever it goes. It also seems to be in decent unrestored condition from the photos, and according to the seller runs and drives without issue. From the seller’s description:

This one Owner Italian Fiat 125 Special is rare in the U.S. With a 1600 Engine and 5 Speed, 4 Wheel Disk Brakes this was the BMW of it’s Time. Same engine as the Spider. This is a very honest and original old car. Drives solid and Tight. The doors, hood, trunk, all fit and close as they should, and no structural rust. The paint and interior are clearly original, with several very minor defects and blemishes as would be expected in a original car of this era. It clearly has been used and maintained over the decades. It starts on the first turn of the key, rev’s up just fine, good clutch, and shifts fine. The brakes stop the car fine, with no side to side pulling. The wheels need to be repainted, but the rubber is good all around. It comes with a brand new exhaust system from engine to rear fresh installed in Italy prior to me getting it. Included is the original Title and Registration in Italian from 1968 to present. 32 MPG
