It looks like this 1966 Chevrolet El Camino for sale on Hemmings.com earned every bit of Texas sunburn and patina covering it, and while it might appear well worn today, it has benefited from a rebuilt engine and transmission and appears largely rust free and still capable of putting in a day’s hard work. Sure, it’s a blank canvas for a restoration or a customization, but doing so would erase that perfect weathered state it’s achieved. From the seller’s description:
I purchased this El Camino through a friend whose family had bought it brand new in 1966. It has the original 327ci small block which has been professionally rebuilt & bored .40 over along with an upgraded TH-350 transmission from the original 2spd powerglide. Mechanically this vehicle is in great shape. It runs and drives without issue but it does have a few needs that need to be addressed. Overall, this would be a great father/son type project but it’s present condition lends itself to a lot of different possibilities (All Original/Rat Rod/Customized/Street-Strip..etc)
