Hemmings Find of the Day – 1983 AMC Concord

1983AMCConcord_01_1000

Little surprise that we see this 1983 AMC Concord four-door for sale on Hemmings.com based out of Wisconsin, AMC’s spiritual homestate. It is surprising, however, to see one in such fine original condition, without any rust, faded paint, damaged interior, or missing pieces, as is typical for most Concords still on the roads today. It might not be the sexiest car around, but it would make for a unique daily driver. From the seller’s description:

46,000 original miles, 258 c.i.d. 6 cylinder, 3 speed auto transmission, w/lock out torque converter, stock radio, tilt wheel, power steering, manual disc brakes. At time of purchase in 2007 by me it had 26,250 miles, new brakes, calipers, pads, rear hardware, shoes, exhaust from the cat back, valve cover gasket, computer. It came with factory Ziebart, but original owner did Rusty Jones at a later date. Owned by a little old lady in Milwaukee for its first 24 years, it stayed in an enclosed parking garage away from the elements. It is very good original paint and interior. No rust noted as it did not see much winter service (if any) by original owner and I never drove it in winter. 26 mpg observed during continuous highway drive. Excellent running condition, no mechanical issues. It is about as close as it gets to driving a new AMC car in 2015. Bonus, comes with extra NOS rear bumper. Selling due to downsizing as we are retired and just do not drive much anymore. We have enjoyed owning this little gem for 8 years and want to place it in an appreciative home.
