Run on a dry track under sunny skies, the MotoAmerica Supersport race two at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, had the crowd on edge, wondering who'd take the win. For a dozen laps, the Graves Yamaha teammates of JD Beach and Garret Gerloff battled with the Meen Yamaha of Josh Herrin, with Beach eventually taking the win after out-dragging his opponents to a three-abreast finish at the line. Margin of victory was a scant 0.009 seconds. "I knew I had a really good pace," said Beach. "But with the way the wind was blowing, it was really hard to break away; the draft was so big." "I got lucky," continued Beach. "Josh and Garrett made a big ol' air pocket for me, and I got by them." With four rounds of the AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship behind them, Beach and Herrin have three wins apiece and are tied in points at 140. Gerloff, with a single win, is third with 124 points. For more information, visit: www.motoamerica.com
