Medium is announcing Letters, a new way for writers to connect with their readers.
Letters harkens back to the days of writing physical letters, but repackages them as blog posts. Medium says Letters has value “especially in today’s world of endless information streams.”
When a Letter is written via Medium, it’s delivered straight to the email inboxes of your followers as well as remaining sticky on Medium. This could find favor with bloggers all over, especially if they can snag a custom domain via Medium.
In announcing Letters, Medium says it will “have the potential to provide what blogs used to through RSS subscriptions.” The feature is rolling out today.
