Mercedes-AMG C63 S Takes the BMW M3 in a Drag Race

bmw m3 f80 vs mercedes-amg c63 s

The Mercedes-AMG C63 S may have been downsized from its original naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine to a mere 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 power unit, but it is still something that you should not mess with in a drag race. Its engine is something that could be found under the hood of the Mercedes-AMG GT S after all.

So what happens if you pit a Mercedes-AMG C63 S against a product from its rival brand, the BMW M3?

Just by comparing the power outputs of the two, you might already get an idea of the winner. But before I spoil the excitement further, check out the drag race below and see the result for yourself:

The Winner Is…

As expected, the Mercedes sedan simply rushed pass the competition. As soon as the torque of the car kicked in, the BMW was left behind.

It should be noted though that the BMW M3 was no pushover despite the result shown in the video. According to Coolmody, the uploader of the clip in YouTube, the BMW M3 was a slightly-modified F80 generation model.

While it was not mentioned how much power is packed in the reconfigured engine of the BMW, its stock model has 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque in its 3.0-liter inline-six power unit. For short, it is not something that should be underestimated.

On the other hand, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S featured only stock configurations, which means it was carrying 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. As displayed here, even in its unadulterated state, it is still capable of leaving its counterparts from other luxury car brands behind.
