Hemmings Find of the Day – 1969 BMC flatbed truck

We like the race car hauler concept proposed by the seller of this 1969 BMC flatbed truck listed on Hemmings.com, and we can think of several cars that would fit well – both thematically and physically – on the back of this truck: ideally British and with many of the same drivetrain parts as the truck itself. And of course you’d want to paint the truck to match the car riding on its back, so it matters more that the interior looks to be in decent shape than that the paint and body can use a refresh. Besides, if it runs, drives, and hauls, who needs anything more from a truck? From the seller’s description:

This is a very interesting little truck that was brought over from England in the 70′s. It was sold new in London and used as a local delivery truck. Has a 4-cylinder 4-speed manual transmission. The engine is strong. It was converted to a flat bed in California. The truck is perfect for carrying a small race car. We have done some work to it and we have two new side bed panels to replace the new ones that have corrosion. The underside and chassis are very solid and rust free and the truck is also accident free. There are specially made aluminum ramps for getting cars on and off and also a remote winch. The truck comes on a clean California title.
