Spring might have arrived last month, but it’s taken the weather a while to catch up. Now with blue skies and sunshine more days than not, get outside with your friends and family members and check out a few of these 2015 spring community events in Topeka, KS.
Eagle Cruise Night 2015
Date and Time: 3:00pm-8:00pm
Location: Downtown Topeka, Quincy St.
Auto enthusiasts! If you’re looking for a free event where you can spend the day admiring hundreds of cool cars, or would like the opportunity to show off your classic or custom car, Cruise Night will be blast. While you’re cruising up and down the rows of vehicles, swing by one of the two beer gardens and check out the different food vendors. Don’t be afraid to bring the kiddies, we know that car shows aren’t exactly up their alley, but there is a play area to keep them entertained and having fun while you’re free to explore.
Date and Time: May 2nd (7:30-12pm) Recurring
Location: Downtown Topeka 12th & Harrison
With things warming up here in Topeka, avoid crashing into carts and standing in endlessly long checkout lines at the grocery store, when you can enjoy the bright, spring mornings. Take your time, and enjoy yourself while looking through fresh flowers and produce as well as baked good, hand-made crafts, and more. Can’t make it down this Saturday? That’s quite alright, because this is a recurring event that will take place through November.
NHRA Kansas Nationals
Date and Time: May 24th, 9:00am-4:00pm
Location: 7350 S.W. Topeka Blvd.
Listen and feel the mighty roar of the cars as they tear down the dragstrip. This track is home to record-breaking performances; one of the most impressive events of which occurred a few decades ago when the Funny Car broke the quarter-mile four-second and 300-mph records.
