When properly equipped, station wagons can haul far more than groceries, kids, dogs and lumber. This 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood Wagon, for sale on Hemmings.com, was ordered with the optional L-36 V-8, which put out 390-horsepower from its 427-cu.in. of displacement. Said to be numbers-matching, this example has seen the kind of upkeep over the years that shows it was well cared for; the hood has been repainted to address fading paint, body bushings have been replaced, the A/C compressor and evaporator are new, the front and rear seats have been reupholstered and the carpeting is fresh, but otherwise the wagon remains largely unaltered from its as-built condition. It’s a safe bet that that Chevy won’t exactly be a fuel-sipper, but we’re sure it makes up for that in other ways. From the seller’s description:
