The long-awaited unveiling of the revolutionary 2016 Acura NSX is finally here and it is everything we have hoped for. With only release date teasers and rumors to keep us satiated, the wait has been difficult, but with the recent reveal at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show we finally have concrete specs to indulge us. Take a look at the official 2016 Acura NSX design and performance specs to see what this new performance-tuned Acura model is capable of.

Official 2016 Acura NSX Design and Performance Specs at Joe Bullard AcuraBilled as an Acura “supercar”, the 2016 Acura NSX is available for custom order starting in the summer of 2015 and should be delivered in the fall. The mid-engine sports hybrid supercar features a driver-focused design, to create an emotional connection with the driver. Combining the power of a twin-turbocharged 75-degree DOHC V-6 engine and a three-electric motor Sport Hybrid system similar to the Acura RLX Sport Hybrid, the 2016 Acura NSX reportedly produces more than 550 horsepower. The sport hybrid power platform will be paired with a nine-speed dual clutch transmission to enhance both performance and efficiency.

Low, wide design cues combine with multi-material body construction to lighten the Acura NSX and improve aerodynamics. This innovative Acura design centers around the driver and is intent on providing a “human-centered supercar” with a dynamic display and premium dash features. Boasting unparalleled visibility, easy-to-operate controls and comfortable ergonomics, the 2016 Acura NSX stands out among other competing supercars as both innovative and the most comfortable in the class.

At 176 inches long and 76.4 inches wide, the new Acura NSX is designed for performance-based handling and has a height of only 47.8 inches to promote aerodynamics. A 103.5-inch wheelbase also lends itself to confident handling.

The 2016 Acura NSX performance specs are amplified through sport-tuned design cues, but also by advanced, performance-based technologies. Incorporating the innovative Acura Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, the new Acura NSX will provide quick, responsive handling and performance. NSX models will also be available with an Advanced Sports Package, which optimizes performance features to give the Acura NSX the lowest center of gravity in its class. The Dynamic System feature provides four driving modes, so you can customize your performance as well. Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track modes monitor engine, motor, transmission and chassis performance to match your driving needs simply by turning a dial.

With the release of official 2016 Acura NSX design and performance specs, we now have more to look forward to than just a release date. Just this short glimpse at the design, power platform and performance features has created even more excitement surrounding the brand-new Acura supercar.
