General Motors will lay off 100 more employees from its Lansing Grand River facility next month, joining the 350 already scheduled for said action.

Detroit Free Press reports the layoffs are the result of the second shift at Lansing Grand River being cut due to low sales of the Cadillac ATS and CTS, both of which are assembled at the plant. Most of those being laid off are new hires.

GM plans to move 200 of the workers to the nearby Lansing Delta Township plant, where the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia are assembled, with the remainder to be transferred elsewhere.

The layoffs are expected to be temporary, with employees brought back to Lansing Grand River when production of the next-gen Chevrolet Camaro begins sometime around the fall of 2015 at the earliest. GM could lay off more or fewer employees still, however, as the automaker is still working out the final total.
