The BMW i3 sales for the U.S. market fell to 816 units in November from 1159 cars sold the previous month.
Previously in October, BMW set a new personal best, and third consecutive month of sales over 1,000 units, showing previous results were no fluke.
While not confirmed, InsideEVs believes that the i3 sales decrease can be attributed to the production/delivery issues from the Leipzig plant.
Going forward, sales may lapse a bit in the United States in December and January as reports of fall-out from super-typhoon Haiyan has crippled BMW’s ability to source carbon fiber raw materials, and the company has temporarily shut-down its furnaces.
BMW is expected to make an important announcement at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show and the updates to the i3 and infrastructure into the new year are expected to aid the sales.
